I love making bracelets and these are so easy to make. Ideally they are meant for kids as the beads I buy are usually found in toy shops. These are not just for kids you know! :)

All you need is some elasticated thread / string, colourful beads, scissors and a free hour. I managed to make 25 in an hour. Sorting for the right colours seems to take up most of the time.

I use empty Pringles can and see-through take-away boxes to store the beads.

A selection of bracelets.

Simply thread your chosen beads onto the elastic and tie securely with a few knots. Make bracelets suitable to the size you want, the elastic comes in handy as it can stretch to different sizes.

Colourful! :)

Rainbow cupcakes and Cookie Monsters

Ahhh my first post! Today i was slightly bored so baking took place! Recipe as follows:

Rainbow Fairy Cakes

Ingredients (makes 12)

125g butter/margarine,
125g caster sugar,
teaspoon vanilla essence,
2 large eggs,
125g self raising flour,
2 tablespoons milk,
1 teaspoon baking powder,
Food colouring.

Method:
1. Preheat oven to 200C. Place paper cases in tray.

2. Cream butter and sugar together and add vanilla essence.

I chose blue, yellow, green and pink.
3. Add eggs, one at a time and add a spoonful of flour in-between.

4. Fold in the rest of the flour, through a sieve first with the baking powder.

5. Add the milk and mix in.

6. Depending on how many colour you want to use, separate
the mixture into a number of bowls. Add a few drops of
food colouring into each bowl and mix in.

7. Spoon into the paper cases.

8. Place in oven for 10 - 15 minutes and leave to cool.

9. Now comes the fun part!! Decorating!

On all of the cakes i firstly used an already made shop bought butter icing in vanilla and strawberry flavours. To make the pink cookie monster, i sprinkled pink sprinkles over, cut a slit to fit half a chocolate chip cookie in and added two chocolate buttons with white hearts / stars on for the eyes. For the other cakes i just had fun using a variety of sprinkles. :)

Love heart sprinkles!
